Behind The Lens

Brendon first started taking photos in 2010, covering sporting events for his High School Yearbook through graduation in 2014. This led to an opportunity to work part-time as a Sports Photographer for Inter-State Studios, a position which he held for three years.

Tying together his love for Motorsports and Photography in late 2013, Brendon started taking photographs at local race tracks. "I'd been going for years, watching both my brother and dad race. I had tried driving, but that wasn't for me. I knew that I still wanted to be involved somehow, so I figured I would take up motorsports photography", said Brendon.

Originally, covering events at Peoria and Spoon River Speedway, Brendon began to travel to other local tracks throughout Illinois and has become a recognized motorsports photographer in the Midwest. "I'm thankful to have made great friendships in photography. One of the most influential people who has made a big impact on my photography is the late Dennis Krieger. He was a 50-year veteran of motorsports photography who became a very close friend of mine over the years. Dennis was the reason that I fell in love with Sprint Cars and Midgets. I truly believe that if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be where I am today."

Some of his biggest accomplishments include having work published by ESPN, serving as team photographer for Clauson-Marshall Racing at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals and being published in other numerous racing publications.

Today, Brendon is a regular contributor to DirtonDirt.com, FloRacing, SPEED Sport, World Racing Group and it's subsidiaries, World of Outlaws and DIRTcar Racing. Additionally, he contributes work to the United States Auto Club and other sanctioning bodies that he covers events for. He currently works with CILTRAK Inc., handling Media duties for Jacksonville Speedway and the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Sprint Car Series. Along with his work in photography, Brendon lends his talents to assisting 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa and Spoon River Speedway, in Canton, Illinois with the creation of promotional materials for their numerous events.

Away from the race track, Brendon works for Mid Century Communications, an Internet and Telephone Provider in rural west central Illinois. He currently sits on the Spoon River College Foundation Board of Directors and the Spoon River Valley CUSD No. 4 Board of Education. He spends the off-season from racing, involved with athletics at Spoon River Valley, attending many extra-curricular events, and operating the scoreboards for all North Fulton Basketball contests.
